So my plane flight over was pretty good, I only slept two hours though sooo I am dead tired.
on the plane, I was seated next to two Italian girls in their late 20's who spoke next to no english seemed slightly annoyed by the girl to their left who kept pointing phrases in some pocket translater book she had picked up saying how do you say this every other minute. I was even getting annoyed and she was 3 people away from me. about 30 mins into the flight the filght attendent came asking if we would like something to drink at which time the two girls next to me requested cappucino (only to have the flight attendent look at them wierd and reply we only have coffee ... Caffè) so they requested a latte not understanding the difference between american and italian caffè only to get another annoyed reply by the flight attendent ... interjected and said its caffè americano at which point they said ohh and asked for sprites.
now know that i spoke broken italian they started talking to me in italian and broken english occasionally having me translate they annoying girls questions which made me realize i know alot more italian then i thought i did... and eventually i found out the girl was going to JCU we talked alittle about that but eventually the italian girls saved me and we started talking. they tried to teach me a new card game scoopa (sp) which seemed like a combination of rummi and war but i kept messing up the game so i told them to play with out me. they were really fun and nice ... and by halfway through the flight the attendents would just address me to talk to them
I FINALLY saw 300 ... you were right chad it was pretty freaking sweet
I also saw the first half of wild hogs and it seemed pretty funny
oh and some one with diabeties got sick on the plane and they actually call over the intercom is there a doctor on the fight and sure enough there was... It was like something from an movie...
so after getting to school and meeting with 7634787278923 different people they finally took us to our appt's around 1
mine is gorgeous 2 blocks from the vatican ... they said it's new.. hardwood floors, tiled bathrooms and even a baday (sp?) my room has room for one more but no one is there as of now. so right now i live with 4 other girls who i havent met yet.
i live on the 1st floor ... which in america would technically be the 2nd ... and there is an out door cortile(kinda like a court yard) which is full of life ... you can hear people cooking and talking and all of the music they are playing and it smells sooo good!
tonight there is a meet and greet i mght go if i feel up to it
and tomorrow I will explore more of trastevre and get my cell phone and other odds and ends
A domani
